slaves were taken to America from Africa so they could be sold to the people in the business of selling slaves.

the middle passage was the trip of hell where slaves would be transported to places by ships in chains.

the slaves were kept in a small place they was not much room for them to sleep and move about. it was

very uncomfortable for them.

Many slave died on the trip from hunger or being beaten really bad.
