Slavery was a huge part of the 17th and 18th century. There was a lot of confliction between the black and white races and unfortunately the white race had the upper hand; in other words they had control of the black people. These days there are equal rights between both of the races and there is no slavery like the African and American Slave Trade.
Black people had no independence and were totally controlled by the whites. This was because of the difference in skin colours, the way in which they spoke and because of the difference in wealth. The blacks were treated very unfairly and became known as slaves to the Americans.
To carry the slaves back and forth they used ships. These ships were slave ships and they carried thousands of chained black people at one time. These ships were in a disgraceful condition. They were kidnapped from there home environment to most likely die aboard the ship.
